And now, a few words from me:
Hello there, my name is Dallas and I’m very pleased to meet you. I arrived in foster care on May 31st. I was sad when I was told my owners could no longer care for me as I had to have surgery and they couldn’t afford it. I understand, and they did the best they could.
Now I would like to find a home that will love me for the rest of my years. I’m a happy, young at heart, fellow and enjoy a nice comfy dog bed and someone to give me lots of cuddles. I have undergone surgery to remove my bladder stones and I feel so much better. My doctor told me I have to be on special food for the rest of my life to ensure the stones don’t come back, but that is OK as I really like the food. I do have a few medical problems (what dog my age doesn’t). I have Cushings disease and I need to be on medication to control that for the rest of my life. I also have a reaction to the food I need to be on, so I’m on Apoquel to control that too. I don’t see very well, but even with all this, I’m a good happy dog that loves life and all it has to offer.
And now, a few words from my foster mom:
Dallas is a quiet, calm little boy. He is an 11 year old Bichon/Poodle mix. Dallas was given up to a shelter when it was discovered that he needed surgery for bladder stones and the owners could not cover the cost. Dallas has received his surgery, the stones were removed, and he will need to remain on Royal Canin Urinary SO to limit/prevent this from reoccurring. He is so much happier now that he is pain free. Dallas does require medication to control his itching and Cushings for the rest of his life.
Dallas has progressed from a cautious, timid dog to one who enjoys being petted and getting lots of attention. He has gone through so much this year; he has adjusted well to all the changes, his health is better and now he is a very happy dog. He likes to sleep under the bed at night or in his favourite dog bed. He enjoys exploring around the backyard and going for walks. Dallas is not a fan of being picked up, he is much happier walking around the house and taking things in stride. Dallas would love to find a home with a retired couple or empty nesters. Dallas loves to ride in the car and bounces with joy when he sees his food bowl presented to him. If dinner time is late, he will sit beside you and stare at you as if to say ‘hey, do you know what time it is?’ He is such an easy keeper as he asks for so little in life. He doesn't require a crate, is house trained, good with the groomer and at the vets. At 11 years young he has a lot of bounce in his step and a gleam in his eye when he gets excited. You will fall in love with this munchkin upon meeting him if you give him that chance.
