Hope was dumped in an overnight shelter space. We've included her intake photo which we still find difficult to look at. Clearly, whoever had her treated her terribly. This girl is one of the sweetest, most obedient dogs we've ever had in the rescue. Unfortunately, she has a condition known as Perianal Fistulas. We are still working on getting control of her medical needs, but she's in a foster home that is taking very good care of her in the San Francisco Bay Area and being seen by the Specialists at UC Davis. One thing we have determined is she is a super smart cookie and does NOT like taking meds!Housebroken, bomb-proof in the house, fantastic with other dogs, affectionate with people, PERFECT on a leash, loves to be brushed. This is one gal who has blossomed with proper care, daily walks and a nice soft bed for relaxing. Recently we've also discovered that she is a bit of a ball freak, she loves to chase a tennis ball and willingly brings it right back so that you can throw it again.Hope's medical needs are straightforward and the rescue will work with an adopter or long term foster family to assist with those costs.
The minimum adoption donation for adults is $300 and the adoption donation for puppies is $400 - $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
