Tobie the Dog needs a home
All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.
Tobie is a big, sturdy, extra friendly guy. He is hoping for a savvy dog person who will take the time he needs to learn to trust. He has been totally vetted and has had all his shots. He is ready and waiting for you!
A SPECIAL NOTE TO YOU FROM HIS FOSTER: He looks like a hound but acts and sounds like a lab. He does not put his nose to the ground to track and he barks like a lab not a bay like a hound. He is a tough and tumble player and needs lots of running around then he will settle down. He is smart, and stubborn like a lab also.
The vet's office says he is always happy and wanting love and attention. He takes direction best if you are on his level and not looming over him. While he does like everyone, he really adores men the most. He is a big kisser and when he is happy he will give you kiss after kiss. The best thing in the world to him is to hear he is "a good boy". He will just be in ecstacy if you praise him. He does not like to be crated at all. He does like to be around his people and will follow you from room to room. He gets very excited when he sees children, they want to pet him and then he jumps at them, so probably no young children. He is eating well, goes potty on the leash fine (long leash) and is housebroken. Still working on the cats, he is fine with the very savvy ones, if they ignore him and let him sniff them they just walk by him no issue. BUT if they run or are shy he will chase them. He is very smart and learns quickly. He is an exhuberant dog, full of life.
