Joey the Dog needs a home

An FPA volunteer witnessed Joey walking up to a house seeking help, only to be chased away by the occupants. Limping on three legs and looking defeated, the volunteer wasted no time in getting him safely in the car and far away from those who considered him a nuisance. This sweet natured boy had been hit by a car, bitten by another dog and shot at.
Joey is currently in a foster home. He LOVES his foster sister. He is learning about toys and treats. He is a very mellow dude who wants to please and to be near his people. He made new friends with the handyman and housekeeper who both came into the house, he wasn't bothered at all with all the activity.
Joey is a 2 year old red heeler mix. He may have a mix of blue tick beagle, he has that beagle face! Whatever mix of breeds he is, he's very handsome! He does well on a leash when being walked and is a perfect gentleman in the car. Joey is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, heart worm negative and micro-chipped. Joey doesn't like being alone, who can blame him, so he will need to be in a home with another dog.
