Nicolette the Cat needs a home

We have yet to figure out Nicolette, some of us believe that she may have been abused. Although she “likes” affection from people, she always appears to be on her guard with it. She was abandoned in our parking lot so we do not know any of her background. She also appears to be scared of cats and several have picked up on that and pick on her. We have gotten her to play with toys and we get so excited when we see her do that, she is like a different cat when playing with toys. Do you feel like you might have the special touch to bring her around to where she enjoys life? We love her a lot but want so much for her to be happy and not afraid all the time.
