Adopt a Great Dane
Odin the Dog needs a home
Pell City, Alabama Odin was originally brought in to Pell City (AL) Animal Control a couple of month ago as a stray. He was adopted but was brought back after two months, claiming he was “growly”. The director called me and after contacting SRGDRR, I picked him up to foster on 11-21-17. I introduced him to my three dogs, a female Great Dane, a Beagle and a Blue- Heeler mix. The introduction went well. Odin found his place in the pack rather quickly. All four are fast friends now. Odin is does not do well with cats. He absolutely HATES chickens so be forewarned.
As for his “growly” we have not experienced any negative behavior (except for the chickens). As most Great Dane owners know, Great Danes “talk” ,and I believe this maybe was the ”growly” they experienced. We had 25 people here for Thanksgiving that he had not met before as he was only here a couple of days before the holiday and there were no issues. He is so sweet and gentle with the most loving eyes and snuggles. Our grandchildren love him from ages almost 2 to 21. They play with him and sleep on him, using him as a pillow.
Odin is 4 year old neutered male, 125lb, and in excellent health overall. He has had no accidents in the house so I would consider him completely house broken. He has not damaged anything in the house even ignoring the Christmas trees and decorations.For more information, please email us at [email protected].
