Lucy is a wonderful dog and a very sweet girl. She likes playing with toys, especially balls and kongs, but she's also very calm and even-tempered. She's house-trained, likes being in her crate, walks well on a leash, and she can sit and shake her paw on command! She's super smart, gentle and affectionate, making her an excellent family pet. She loves everyone she meets - kids, adults, other animals. Lucy is sure to make her new family very happy - come meet her soon!
Medical Note: Lucy has been treated for heartworm disease with melarsomine injections. Her treatment is completed and she tested negative for microfilaria in December 2017, so she is now cleared to resume normal activity and can be adopted! She will need an antigen test in late May. Untreated heartworm disease can cause lasting damage to the heart, lungs and arteries, and can affect the dog's health and quality of life even after the parasites are gone, possibly presenting as medical complications and/or new conditions in the future. Lucy showed no symptoms of heartworm disease before or during treatment.
