Adopt a Chihuahua / Boston Terrier / Mixed (short coat)
Beenz the Dog needs a home
Beenz and Tank came in as a bonded pair of youngsters left behind when their family up and moved away, leaving them in the care of a senior citizen who lives in a motel room. This was bad judgement and left these kids in trouble. This woman absolutely not capable of care and was letting them at large which brought our attention to these kids. They seem to have been together their entire life and would love to be together but could integrate into a family without the other if the circumstances were right. They would need other doggy siblings for sure.
Beenz is a vocal kid, not hyper but active. She has mastered the doggy door and shows happiness everyday. Beenz and Tank both show anxiety about being picked up. We see this in kids that are have experienced violence in capture routinely. This will need to be addressed in a new home. We have no documented history on these kids so all we have to go on is the experience and insight provided by our skilled foster parents. It would seem these kids were maybe not abused like beat but handled very roughly and so when reached for, they have a knee jerk reaction of fearfulness, somewhat expecting that they will again be grabbed and thrown etc. This is letting up some but will surely flare back up in a new home, together or separate. It will require time and understanding, patience and time. They do confidently come and jump up in their foster families laps while they are sitting but the second the pick up action kicks in, they are worried again. These things are born from extreme and very real emotions but can become habits, therefore breakable in the right home.
Probably not a good choice for apartment dwelling cause she needs that release of free play and letting the world know she is around!!
See bottom photo of them together!
