Adopt a Labrador Retriever / German Shepherd Dog / Mixed

Hi there, I'm Poseidon (sometimes Si for short). I am a black lab/shepherd mix and about 2 years old. I was dropped off at a local shelter, abandoned by my family.

When I first met my foster dad the day he came to pick me up, I kept running back in my old car. I don't like meeting new people but I am starting to find that it is silly of me to feel that way. Once I got to know him (and other people I meet) I think I like him.

My foster dad says that I am good on my leash and that he likes walking me (except he is always complaining about it being cold – I am from Berkley, WV so this is no big deal...) and that I am well behaved. I really like to go for walks and even though my dad walks me several times a day, I sometimes wish it were more. I love to run around, I have so much energy.

My previous owners gave me back to SSR because when they would go to work (and sleep) they did not always put me in a crate. I got bored and have all this energy. They did not like how I entertained myself by freeing all the stuffing in their couch and practiced my fine chewing skills on lamps and other things in the house. I have only had the chance to chew one thing of my foster dad's. It was a jacket that smelled like him and I liked it. He was not happy but said it was his fault for leaving it out when he was walking my foster sister...See, chewing is NOT my fault!

As much as I like living with my foster dad, brother (although Duke does not like when I jump on his head for some reason), and sister (Lilly), I would really like a home of my own. I am hoping for a family that will run around with me and even though I like my crate, I would like them to be home most of the time. My foster dad says I am a great dog and will make some family very happy, especially when I stop chewing things (even though it is not all my fault).
