ONE LAST THING:
Zoey is the biggest sweetheart ever! She is pure love; has the most gentle spirit and is learning life is good. Zoey was rescued from a very bad situation in Texas where she was kept in a backyard and very neglected, covered in ticks, nails curled under her feet, and close to death from emaciation. Zoey is SUPER submissive and sensitive, and very good with other dogs. She is just a little unsure at first of new situations but does really well when introduced to new things with someone she trusts to guide her. Zoey seems to be hard of hearing and hand shy so a seasoned owner is necessary to help build her confidence with patience and love. She is intimidated by larger dogs, but continues to gain confidence. She's good at dog meet and greets with all dogs, but she plays with smaller dogs and puppies only so far.

We think she would do fine with cats with a slow intro based on the little interaction we have seen so far and how sensitive she is to correction. She needs to build confidence. Gentle as can be. She needs a home who understands she has been through a lot and can calmly just show her that she will only know gentle kindness from now on. Kids who can be gentle and calm with her, over 8 would be best while she gains confidence.
