Mercy Davis Lonestar the Dog needs a home

So here is the story of Mercy...

In September my dad, found a pitiful little brindle dog who'd been dumped on his very rural East Texas ranch. She'd been fending for herself and her babies (she was very pregnant) for weeks. While she was very happy to see him, she was very timid and wouldn't let him catch her. I called a childhood friend of mine, and she went to help my dad catch the little brindle dog. My husband drove halfway across Texas to get this very pregnant little dog. She settled in to our home, and we named her Mercy (because "Lord have mercy" was a phrase we heard often from friends and neighbors when they met this little girl with the big belly)! Mercy gave birth to 14 pups on October 15! She was in labor for 24 hours. She raised 10 healthy pups, and she was a very good momma. She has been so sweet to let a parade of neighbors and friends come by and hold the babies. She's been welcoming to everyone, and everyone has fallen in love with her just as much as the puppies. From the moment Mercy arrived, she was so grateful and sweet. She is friendly, and her tail is always wagging. She is a very happy dog, and she has the biggest smile! It's one of my favorite things about her. She gets along well with other dogs of all sizes, and she is excellent with our cat. Mercy is a GREAT playmate to other dogs, she will do best with a companion dog in her forever home. She especially loves children. She is house and crate trained. She kennels easily with a treat (she's come to expect it!).  She whines when she needs to go potty. She's great on leash, and she is learning basic commands like "sit." We've only heard her bark a few times (when she is outside and wants in); she's very quiet. She's very agile and athletic. Some of Mercy's favorite things are: playing chase with the other dogs, exploring the yard, chewing on antlers or PetSense bones, FOOD (she's a bottomless pit!), and getting attention. The only thing she really hates is bath time, but she's getting better about that. She was really good at the vet.  She's a really easy foster dog. Everyone thinks from pictures that she's a big dog, so they're surprised when they see how small she is in person. She's a great medium size. I can see Mercy fitting into many different families, but what I want most for her is to be loved and cherished. After all that she's been through, she deserves to live like a princess!
