Adopt a Husky / Husky (long coat)

When got the call asking for help for a Husky in need we couldn’t turn our backs.
 
Oso found himself in BARCS, a MD shelter when his previous owner dumped him after he had been hit by a car. You see, his leg had been broken badly and his Owner hoped it would heal on its own.  Vet care was not properly sought and the bones started to mend improperly and surgery was needed.  From the moment we picked him up we knew this guy was special.  Although he was broken physically his spirit was not, he was loving and full of life!  We believe Oso to be about 1.5 years old. 
 
Our vet got him in for surgery immediately and it was a success and an external fixator was put in place. This would require a long 4-6weeks for recovery and wound care. Although Oso was on restricted activity, he still didn’t let it break his spirit.   Fast forward two months later and the fixator has been removed and everything has healed up nicely.  And guess who’s a runner!
 
Oso loves playing with his foster brother Rocco, they will chase each other around the house or play tug of war. They eat and sleep together and are best buds.  Oso needs to go to a home with other young, playful dogs who are very tolerant. Oso does not understand personal space. 
 
Typical of the breed, Oso does have a bit of separation anxiety and needs to be crated when humans are not home.  He does like to have his stories playing on the TV while his humans are not around.  Once we figured this out he’s not had an accident in the house or create! He is highly active and energetic, but full of love to give.  His new parents must be able to go out with him several times a day as he needs his potty breaks.
 
This wooly beauty is going to be an amazing companion to someone who knows the needs of a husky. Oso is being fostered in MD, is neutered, current on his vaccines and ready to find his forever home. We have been through a lot with Oso and will require the most amazing adopter for him!  Oso can be adopted in either MD or NJ, for an approved applicant.
