Hi, my name is Dakota and I am looking for the perfect forever family.  I am a very independent little girl who is most active at night when everyone else in the home is sleeping.  I get along very well with other cats (I currently live with 1) as well as cat savvy dogs (I currently live with 5!).  But humans, man those things are scary!  You see, I came from a home that had over 100 cats and we didn’t have much human interaction, so the whole human thing is new and a little bit scary for me.   I’ve been at my foster home for a few months now, and my foster mom says that I have come a long way from when I got there so she thinks with time and patience from my forever family, one day, humans won’t be as scary to me.

Some of my favorite things to do are; explore the house to try and find a nice warm spot to sleep (my cat tower is my favorite!), play with the other cat in the home, play with my cat toys, and getting treats.  I love when my foster mom puts out treats for me to eat! I also like to cuddle with the resident dogs in the home (when they let me).  I am a very independent girl who has had a rough start to life, so I am looking for a forever family who understands this and will continue to help me become less shy around humans.  My foster mom said it would be best if I would go to a home with other cats to help me open up and become less scared.  Do I sound like the purrfect fir for your family?  Fill out an application today and we can find out!

All Ruff Start dogs and cats are spayed/neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccines, microchipped, dewormed, and on monthly flea/tick and heartworm prevention (dogs) as well as heartworm tested (dogs).

Ruff Start Rescue is a foster based rescue. Animals are located in homes throughout Minnesota. We do not have a facility where animals are kept.
