Gilmore the Dog needs a home
Gilmore is a calm, quiet dog, and when he is comfortable he is very sweet. He is shy and fearful with people, especially strangers and is considered a flight risk. Gilmore feels safer indoors than outdoors. Inside, he will walk around, explore and be active, or just happily hang out, but he is scared of walking on a leash and currently only wants to go out for potty breaks. Gilmore loves food, and he loves to cuddle up in bedding and blankets. He also gets along very well with dogs at the Sanctuary and enjoys being around them.Gilmore was born in 2012 and came to Best Friends from a No More Homeless Pets Network Partner shelter. At the Sanctuary, he loves clicker training and is learning hand feeding as well as how to accept human touch and handling. He's also slowly building his confidence and his comfort level so he can spend more than a few minutes outside in his yard and eventually walk on a leash. Gilmore has a quiet nature and would do best in a calm and quiet home. He'll also need a home that has a secure yard and (ideally) other dogs who can show him the ropes.
