UPDATE: 9 JUNE 2017
Klaus (3 yrs old) has decided to come over from the dark side and into the light. He was fostered as a kitten and became friendlier but not quite friendly enough. He then came to the shelter where he spent time loose in the big room and became a little less social. Now Klaus has decided that people are pretty nice, and he has seen the light. He will do best in a quiet home with no children, but he is going to make someone a very nice pet.

Klaus and his sister Kiera (#17209) (9 months old) are very sweet and have come a long way since they arrived at our house! They are no longer hiding from us or looking terrified in the presence of people. They generally enjoy being petted and are much more comfortable when we walk in the room and talk to them. They play easily, especially when chasing a ribbon, and they love watching the snow and birds out the window. Neither one likes being picked up or held much yet. They are sweet company for us and to each other, and they play together really well. They would be a great pair of older kittens for someone who has time to help them continue to be loved and to adjust to being great pets. They are both very sweet and meek, just still learning to fully trust people. They are about 6 months old.
Klaus is loving playing with his ribbon and toy mouse, being petted, and having his tummy rubbed. He has his own room with visitors, including an occasional visit from one our cats. He always like to see them, and he is so much less skittish when we approach him now. He is still not accustomed to being held, although I held him a little while this evening, and he purred while I petted him. He is still not over his skittishness but he has come a long, long way since we got him. He is also getting really big! :)
