Adopt a Boxer (short coat)
Emmy the Dog needs a home
Emmy, formerly known as Keeton, is an absolute lover! She is a Boxer, about 8 ½ years old and 65 pounds. She will kiss your face to show you how much she loves you and snuggle at any moment. To describe her as affectionate is an understatement. She was found in a city park, alone and sad, but is now in a very loving, devoted foster family and ready to find her very own people.
Emmy can be a little timid with things around her such as cars passing by and loud noises, but her foster is slowly introducing her to all of these things and her fears are improving. She walks regularly on the Katy Trail and she enjoys checking out the scenery. She’s a great walker and we want to make sure that her future family will continue this activity on a daily basis.
She adores every human she’s met, children included. She also really loves other dogs and enjoys the companionship of the other boxer girl in her foster family. She would do very well having a furry sibling in her life, especially to help her adapt into a new forever life.
Emmy, like many strays, has heartworms. She will start treatment in March and then will be just fine. ALL of her treatment is paid for by Duck Team 6, even if she’s adopted before it is complete. She is spayed, microchipped and current on all of her vaccinations. Emmy loves to eat and is very treat motivated, so her foster has already taught her the SIT command in just a matter of a couple of weeks with the help of some tasty snacks. She is ready to learn, love and live with a new dedicated owner.
Emmy might be a little bit older and wiser than many of the pups up for adoption, but she has more love to give than ten dogs combined. Please email us at [email protected] for more information or fill out our adoption application at https://duckteam6.org/adoption-application/.
