Adopt a Silky Terrier / Lhasa Apso / Mixed (long coat)

This dog will be at the Palo Alto Pet Food Express from 12-4pm on Sat. Feb. 17th & Sun. Feb. 18th or until adopted. If interested, please fill out an application if you would like the first opportunity to meet prior to the start of the event. (We will pre-approve one home to meet per dog.)

DaVinci is a 4 year old Silky-Lhasa mix who we rescued from the shelter. He's a rescue dog in the true sense of the word. Prior to being found by Animal Control, DaVinci suffered a road-rash type injury to his skin along the back half of his body.  The poor guy's skin was raw and bleeding.  The shelter vet examined him and determined that the injuries were only superficial and that he would recover, so he gave him some medication and off he went to his foster home, half of him all torn up and the other half of him with his long locks tangled and practically in dreads!  His amazing foster saw past all the cosmetics to the great, wonderful dog that he is and gave him lots of love and care, and now, having been neutered and examined again by a second vet and confirmed healthy, he is finally ready for his furever home.

DaVinci has a non-shedding coat that, once it grows back out, will require regular grooming.  He's an option for those with allergies or those who simply don't want fur all over the house.  We will be looking for a home with a grooming plan in place.

DaVinci is a sweet boy in the 15-20 lbs range.  He's on the bigger side of a small dog.  He walks well on leash and loves to sniff everything around him. He's been fostered with another dog, who he gets along with. DaVinci is a HUGE fan of things he can chew on, such as bones or bully sticks.  Need to distract him so you can concentrate?  Pull out a big bully stick and you will not hear a peep from this boy!  He's an overall good-natured guy who's just happy to be with you. DaVinci likes to be near his people and he's hoping to find a home that will let him curl up in the bed with them.  Will you be his snuggle-buddy?

DaVinci is only an option for a home that has had a dog in the last 3 years.  If there are children in the home, they need to be over the age of 8.
