A cup of tea and sweet puppy cuddles - what could be more wonderful?
Especially if the sweet puppy happens to be Toula Teacup, one of the two Teacup sisters! These adorable little muffins appear to be a Terrier mix about two months old. They're oh-so-sweet, fun, and very smart, and Toula just loves attention - she'll whine at you to ask for some petting. Thea has less white than her sister Toula, whose white is all dappled with gray spots. They're both beautiful and very sociable! Being so young and little they haven't started to learn to walk on a leash yet. Crate training and house training are in progress. When they are loose in their caretaker's house they follow her around everywhere and love to explore. They are very inquisitive, but have not been destructive. Obedience classes will be important for them for socialization with new dogs and new people, learning cool stuff, and for getting in some quality bonding time with their new humans. A fenced yard is the ideal, safe place for your puppy to play, but if that's not an option then daily leash walks and opportunities to play off-leash in a dog park are the next best thing. Dogs of all ages benefit from mental stimulation, too - think puzzle toys and games. These pups are good with other dogs - Thea seems to be more dog-oriented, while Toula is more people-oriented, very loving, craves attention and LOVES being held. She loves her foster sibling, Annie, and runs to be with her in her crate. Children and cats are an unknown at this time. Toula LOVES toys - squeaky and chew, laptime, cuddling and being with her sister. They like to play bitey-mouth with each other and like to fight over the toys. Neither one of these girls likes the cold! They will most likely want sweaters when they come north! When it's nice out, they don't like to come inside, since they know they may be crated, so they stand further from the door and just look at their caretaker, which is rather comical.
It takes a lot of time, patience, energy and love to bring up a puppy, but Toula Teacup knows that once she's in your arms, she'll be there with you forever! Fill out an application today and don't forget to put the kettle on for tea!
The Teacup Sisters' Backstory: These two little girls were put in a box at the tender age of six weeks old, and put by someone's mailbox out in the country in Mississippi in early January. The owner of the home found them and took them to the local veterinary clinic, and asked them to take care of the puppies. They have begun the vetting process and we're so excited to have them as SOS puppies! Coming into a new environment without each other will most likely be somewhat traumatic for each of them, so the first few days in their respective new home, they just may need lots of TLC and reassurance. These little girls, like so many of our southern rescues, has been through a lot in their short life of two months.
Adoption Fee: $550
**Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.
