Luna is more than good looks and the famous disposition of tortoiseshell cats (also know as "tortitude!"). This darling is a dog in a cat's body! She is extremely outgoing, affectionate, and playful. Her foster mom is truly enjoying her time with her.
She settled right into her foster home and didn't miss a beat. She's a strong girl, considering all she has been through. Abandoned on a front porch after her family moved away and simply left her behind, a concerned neighbor called animal control to come and take her.
How anyone could leave her behind is a mystery! She is truly a joy to have around.
Luna was placed with other cats in the shelter and did well with a proper introduction. She also does well with gentle children and dogs.
Please consider opening your home to this sweetie!
Please note that cats adopted through DC PAWS must be indoor only, and may not be declawed.
The adoption fee for this cat is $135 for cats. If you are interested in adopting Luna, please submit an adoption application at https://dcpawsrescue.org/adoption-info/adoption-application-cats/.DC PAWS Rescue does our best to provide accurate and complete information about our adoptable animals. Please note that we cannot make any guarantees about age or breed; we rely upon our rescue partners and their veterinarians to make those assessments. We also cannot make any guarantees about housebreaking and animal temperament, as animals can behave differently through transition and in different environments.
Our shelter partners provide a basic vet screening for each animal we rescue, which includes necessary vaccinations, deworming, microchipping, and spay/neuter (unless the animal is too young or otherwise deemed by the vet to not be a good candidate for surgery). Please note that this is not a comprehensive medical exam and as such, may not identify any and all medical issues, though our goal is to flag any obvious health issues through the basic vet screening. We share all medical records with adopters and flag any known issues prior to adoption finalization.
