Adopt a Great Pyrenees (long coat)
Tank in NJ the Dog needs a home
Children in the home must be at least 6 years old.
Previous dog experience is required, preferably large breed.
I`d like to introduce myself. My name is Tank. The name is a bit deceiving now because for reasons I don`t understand, I was very much neglected before I was rescued. I lost a whole bunch of weight, had several matts and had to be shaved which made me look even thinner. At just 75 lbs. I have a lot of catching up to do. I try not to let it hurt my pride because I know that with healthy food and proper care I will become the tall, handsome, statuesque fellow I am meant to be! I hear my foster parents say what a good looking boy I am. Wait until they see me all filled out! I am shy at first until I get to know you then I`ll be your best friend when I know I can trust you. Once you meet me and I relax, I`m pretty sure I can charm you with my talents...I follow commands very well. I always “sit” when asked, do “down", am crate trained and am pretty smooth on the leash. I totally respect the baby gates in my foster home. After everything I`ve been through, I choose to still be kind. They say I have kind eyes - you see, the eyes are a window to the soul. I love belly rubs, walks, treats, and play time outside. A girlfriend would be a nice companion for me. I`d like a quiet home I can relax in while I continue to recuperate, either adult-only or with older teenagers. I would appreciate a family that is willing to understand and continue to work with me to address my fears. The first three years of my life have been a real bummer so I am ready to experience “the good life” I hear other dogs talking about!

About Us: National Great Pyrenees Rescue (NGPR) is not a shelter. We are a not-for-profit, tax-exempt coalition of Pyr rescuers and rescue groups. We save Pyrs and Pyr mixes across the country and place them in approved foster homes so we know how they will interact with
your
family. Please consider adopting or fostering. Every dog who is fostered or adopted makes room for another Pyr coming out of a kill shelter. Prior to adoption, NGPR dogs are fostered for a minimum of two weeks (usually more), spayed or neutered and fully vetted. Dogs coming from out of area are certified with a USDA health certificate before going to their new homes. Our rescuers adhere to the highest placement standards and will take back any dog whose adoption does not succeed. Visit www.nationalpyr.org to learn more about us, our mission and our breed.
