Adopt a Great Pyrenees / Mixed (medium coat)

Great Pyrenees / Mixed (medium coat) Dog

Gwendolyn in OH the Dog needs a home

Children in the home must be at least 6 years old.

Previous dog experience is required, preferably large breed.

Female Great Pyrenees rarely cohabitate with other females successfully. Our goal is for each adoption to be a permanent placement, therefore homes that already have a female dog are not eligible to adopt a female Pyr.

Hello! My name is Gwendolyn and I think it`s a magical name! I can do a little magic for YOU. I can climb a chain link fence really fast and disappear. Poof, I`m gone, right before your eyes! If I was a boy, Houdini would be my name. I wish I could talk because I`d tell you about my past life but I can`t. So, here`s a little info from my foster mom. First of all she would tell you that I require a secure 6 ft. privacy fence. Secondly she`d say I`m stunningly beautiful and extraordinarily sweet. My coat feels like a mink and is short and easy to maintain. I love spa baths and being brushed. What girl doesn`t? My foster brother is bigger than me and sometimes he plays too rough so a laid-back doggie companion would be my first choice. Kids, well, I just love them! I`m pretty good with my recall and will come to the door you know, when “I`m finished”! I am crate trained and find it`s my safe place but I`m pretty happy to curl up next to you, too. I really love to be with my foster mom and my foster dad seems nice but men still are pretty scary. I`m working hard to trust new people. Walks are just grand! I am respectful on leash. I figure I better be since it gives me a good look at the world outside of my fence. I am ready for my forever home but will need someone who will continue with my training and help me be the best I can be!

About Us: National Great Pyrenees Rescue (NGPR) is not a shelter. We are a not-for-profit, tax-exempt coalition of Pyr rescuers and rescue groups. We save Pyrs and Pyr mixes across the country and place them in approved foster homes so we know how they will interact with
your
family. Please consider adopting or fostering. Every dog who is fostered or adopted makes room for another Pyr coming out of a kill shelter. Prior to adoption, NGPR dogs are fostered for a minimum of two weeks (usually more), spayed or neutered and fully vetted. Dogs coming from out of area are certified with a USDA health certificate before going to their new homes. Our rescuers adhere to the highest placement standards and will take back any dog whose adoption does not succeed. Visit www.nationalpyr.org to learn more about us, our mission and our breed.
