Adopt a Domestic Short Hair (short coat)

Millie the Cat needs a home
We welcome specific questions. Due to high volume of applications, we may not be able to respond immediately. Your patience is appreciated.
If an animal is on our website, it is still available but might have other applicants. If you find yourself interested in one of our animals, it is in your best interest to submit an application immediately. Submitting an application does not commit you to any animal, but does get you a head start with the adoption approval process.
We do not schedule meetings until you have an approved application.
As an all-volunteer, foster home based organization, ARF does not have a facility where applicants can visit our animals. The majority of our dogs and cats are brought to adoption events by our volunteers. We invite everyone to come to our events, but we must give priority to pre-approved applicants.
Female, spayed, about 3 years old (as of July 2017), microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, currently in a foster home, will be making appearances at ARF Adoption Events (see http://www.arf-il.org/events.html or https://www.facebook.com/A.R.F.Illinois for times and locations), adoption fee $110.
Millie was rescued from a high kill shelter in Southern Illinois. She was a good mom and all of her kittens have found good homes. Millie came to us with ear trauma. Our vet could not tell what had happened. It could have been frostbite or something done to her on purpose. Whatever it was she does not like having her head touched. When she was spayed the vet had to do an ear modification because her one ear was not healing. It just gives her more personality. Millie is a sweet, laid back cat. She enjoys taking care of the foster kittens. She may be a little shy at first until she can trust you, but then she will want to sleep next to you and purr.
If you are interested in meeting Millie, you can fill out an online adoption application at http://www.arf-il.org/application.html Once your application has been approved, an ARF volunteer will contact you to arrange a meeting with the cat. Filling out the application does not obligate you in any way. (KM)
Millie will also be making appearances at ARF Adoption events. See http://www.arf-il.org/events.html or https://www.facebook.com/A.R.F.Illinois for times and locations.
