Adopt a Domestic Short Hair (short coat)
Shilo the Cat needs a home
Hi, I'm Shilo! My journey to HDDCR has been a long one. Back in 2016, I was camping out under someone's deck with another kitty. When the homeowner found me, he started feeding me. This continued for several weeks. As we had some cold nights, he was worried I would freeze. He eventually scooped me up and brought me to Taylor Animal Control. It was warm there and I got to be with my kitty friend, but it was also very noisy and scary.
After a few months at the animal control, they needed to close for a week to do some maintenance on the building. All the kitties needed to go and Taylor hosted an adoption bonanza. I watched as all (yes, ALL!) the other kitties at the shelter got their forever homes. Even my cage mate (the kitty living under the deck with me) got his home. Where was mine? I think I just don't present well because I am so scared of all these new noises and smells. I will let you pick me up and handle me, but I need some time to decompress, get to know you, and come to you on my own.
I really want to be loved; I'm just not sure who I can trust. I would do best in a home with some patient owners who will let me take my time to warm up. Maybe a home with older kids and no dogs (or a calm dog) as I am very afraid of them and don't feel safe.
Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to
Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a $19.99/Year registration fee or a $69.00/Lifetime registration fee to change information.
Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost.
