RESCUING TONYA

Tonya was taken into animal control as a stray on 3/31/2013. After spending 16 days in AC, her time was up and she was on that day's euthanasia list at Fulton County. We pulled Tonya with only 2 hours to spare on April 16, 2013 and she has been living with us ever since.

At the shelter, Tonya had an injury to her rear right paw and a horrible case of kennel cough/upper respiratory infection.  Animal Control gave her medicine to kill the maggots that had filled her nasty wound on her right rear paw. She has been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and she tested negative for heartworms. Tonyas foot has also completely healed and she is a happy, healthy girl.

ABOUT TONYA

Tonya obviously knew what it is like to live in a house as she immediately jumped up on the couch and made herself at home. She is one sweet girl. She jumped right up into the car, enjoyed her bath, hoarded some bones, ate her dinner, and went into her crate on her own to go to sleep.

Tonya is packed full of personality and she loves toys. She is crate trained, housebroken, loves people, loves to play, and is good with kids. Tonya would love an active family. She would be a great hiking companion and would love a family to teach her new tricks as she is very smart. Tonya can be picky about her doggie friends since she is a tad on the dominant side, but she would likely tolerate another more submissive dog that is her size or larger. She it not suited for a home with cats. Tonya is a strong, active girl and she will require a secure, fenced yard where she can play with her family.

Our adoption fee is $250. All dogs are current on vaccinations, spayed or neutered, micro-chipped, on heartworm prevention, and are fed top of the line grain-free food.
