Elsie the Dog needs a home
Elsie is a sweet girl who came to us as an unclaimed stray. This adorable hound loves to give kisses. She has had a hard life and appreciates the company of people who are kind to her, so much so that she would rather be an only child. She does well with the other beagles in her foster home, but can be possessive of food, toys, and her humans. But, she can likely live peacefully with another tolerant beagle who understands she is the boss. The other beagles in her foster home have adapted and one of the youngest beagles even plays with Elsie and brings out her inner puppy as they roll around puppy wrestling.
Elsie is current on vaccinations, spayed, and microchipped. She is current on heartworm preventative and flea preventative. Unfortunately, Elsie was not previously appreciated for the precious pup that she is and did not receive regular veterinary care before she came to us. She tested positive for heartworms, but her treatment is complete and she is ready to go home!!

Our adoptions include a foster period of 4-6 weeks so that you can be sure that this pet is a good fit without any pressure, and we are available to answer any behavior or training questions during that time (and beyond, if you wish).
** Local adoptions preferred (within Greater New Orleans area and surrounding parishes). We do not ship animals, as a part of our adoption process is for the potential adopter(s) to meet the dog to assess if he/she is a match for the family.
