Adopt a Chihuahua / Terrier / Mixed (short coat)
Midas the Dog needs a home
Midas is approximately eight pounds with a birth year of spring, 2013. His story goes as so many before him, sadly. Discarded on a country highway with two other small dogs. Landowners there tried not to get involved but finally one of the neighbors initiated contact. With no one willing to claim this little fella, he found his way to an Ozark Haven foster mom! He arrived scared, alone and discarded....... A little guy from nowhere not sure of where his path is leading him.
Midas has flourished in foster care and has even become somewhat adventurous. He enjoys his outside free time but must have a safety enclosure to explore to keep him home! He has used the doggy door going OUT but needs a helping hand to come back in :):) He would benefit from some very clear and precise housetraining during his acclimation period so he knows where to go and how to ask to get there! He must know zero tolerance for alternate behavior in this regard. Being a people person, he is eager to please and acclimation training is something all of them need. Midas has exhibited great citizenship with the other kids. He is happy all the time and bounces and smiles everyday!
Midas enjoys his doggy buddies but craves human bonding in a most powerful way. He would be ideal for empty nesters with a doggy housemate. A quiet home would be ideal, he does react with fear to loud noises or surprise chaos. Not a kid dog at all.
We do believe that somewhere in his history he faced an aggressive human and he has not forgotten, firm but quiet and ALWAYS GENTLE is the key to this kids success. Ideally with breed type experience.
Midas is neutered, current on shots and worming, ready to love forever! His adoption donation is $150 of which $125 is tax deductible.
