Adopt a German Shepherd Dog / Norwegian Elkhound / Mixed (medium coat)
Hewitt the Dog needs a home
Profile Info: Hewitt, affectionately known as 'Huey', is a 2-year-old German Shepherd/Norwegian Elkhound mix currently weighing in at 40 lbs. He and his brothers were rescued from a hoarding situation where they were being cared for outdoors. They were well fed and generally taken care of but have little socialization skills with people and were very timid upon arrival to Seattle. They are very sweet and gentle and will let humans handle them without any aggressive reactivity. Hewitt is adjusting incredibly well to "normal dog life" and has become quite confident and friendly around people in the short time he has been in foster with us! He walks well on a leash and is learning how to be crated while left alone. He LOVES other dogs and plays so well with every dog that he has met! Hewitt will make a great dog for a patient family that is committed to continuing his training and socialization.
Adoption Info: Adoption fee $475 includes spay/neuter, current rabies/DAPPV/bordetella vaccinations, microchip, health certificate, and heartworm test. All adoption fees are donations to a Washington non-profit corporation and all donations go to benefit the animals in our rescue.
