Adopt a Chihuahua / Mixed

You simply can’t get a pup much cuter than Max. He is a Chihuahua mix and only 7.5 pounds. He is estimated to be 10 months old and fully grown. Max was found in a yard with a rope tether around his little neck and it was clear he was not being cared for by his owners, so when asked, they surrendered him to one of our volunteers. Thankfully they did because his neck already had a significant rope burn, he had frostbite on his little ears and he has tested positive for heartworms because they were not giving him monthly prevention. His treatment will start this month and he’ll be free of them soon. His treatment is paid for in full by Duck Team 6.

Max is super sweet to all adults and kids; has a new 3 year old girl as his best buddy. He’s in a foster home with several dogs, big and small, and he gets along well with all of them. He also has cats in his new foster home and it is clear that he’s never been around one. He’s curios, but he’s learning that they typically rule the house.

If you love a tiny snuggle boy, Max would be perfect for you. He LOVES to cuddle up with all of the new loving people in his life. He has recently been given his very first toy and he has such a blast with it. Max sleeps in his crate at night right now and doesn’t seem bothered by it at all. It is warm, comfy and safe, so it is definitely so much better than his previous digs.

He is learning to walk nicely on his leash, but it’s brand new for him, so he’ll need some more practice to be perfect. He is working on potty training and has already learned to sit. He’s a smart little guy and he’s ready to impress his new family. Max loves everyone and he deserves an amazing life going forward. Although life started out pretty poorly for this adorable pup, his personality doesn’t show it. He is a fun little boy and he’s ready to join his forever family.
