ALERA the Horse needs a home
Alera has had a tough road to recovery. This strong young horse definitely has a will to survive. She arrived at Longmeadow severely malnourished. She was so weak that when she would lay down to rest she couldn''t get back up. Her caretakers had to lift her to help her back to her feet, numerous times a day and for weeks until she gained enough muscle to stand on her own. After months of rehab Alera was finally available for adoption. Then she was injured in the pasture, possible playing with the other horses, and cracked a tooth. She had to have the tooth removed and again waiting on months of rehab to be available for adoption again. After her LONG journey to recovery Alera is again available for adoption.
Even after severe neglect from her previous owners, Alera still loves people. She loves attention from people and wants to hang out with her head pressed to your chest. This sweet and trusting mare has tons of potential.
Alera has progressed quickly in the groundwork program. She picks up her feet for the farrier and loads into a stock trailer. She has just started the training program for riding and she will learn quickly. She is very eager to please.
Adoption fee: Please call or visit for an updated fee since she is in the training program.
