Adopt a Cattle Dog / Mixed (short coat)
Glock the Dog needs a home
OUT OF STATE ADOPTIONS: We do allow out-of-state adoptions for dogs, however, the adopter MUST come to Houston to get the dog and take the dog home with them. We do not allow our dogs to be shipped. Also, our puppies can only be adopted to the immediate Houston vicinity as it takes 4 months to get them completely vetted at our vet here in Houston. We will not allow our dogs/puppies to be adopted out of the area without being spayed/neutered. We spay/neuter puppies at 4 months old.
Here I am at K-9 Angels, I am so glad to finally be here. As usual, I am “pulling up the rear”! My eight other siblings and I were snug and safe in our mother’s womb until one day, she was on the street searching for food and she was hit by an automobile!! Shook us all up pretty bad! A very nice lady that saw the whole thing, rescued Mom and took her to the shelter. The kind doctors there examined her and found some wounds and possible hip damage in the x-rays. They also found US!! They counted 10 little wee ones and decided right away to find a good foster home for Mom and us. Poor Mom, she was in a good bit of pain and limping, but she was so stoic about it all. The foster folks named her “Stowie” because of her attitude! Well, it was so cozy and stress free after that until our birthday!! Oh wow, if you remember what that was like? Mom didn’t really know what was happening, she had never had any pups before, so foster mom had to do most of the work.
I hear from foster mom that, when I finally came out she was so excited because I had a “bobtail”!! All my brothers and sisters came out just fine but foster mom had to wait a long time for me. Also, she had a bit of trouble getting me to breath at first. I am so glad foster mom didn’t give up on me! It was touch and go for a while; I had to eat from a bottle because I was too tiny to fight for a place at the tummy table! You wouldn’t know it now, but I was about 2 weeks behind my siblings developmentally.
I am very well adjusted and loving and cuddly; I really like my people. I sleep through the night in a cozy pen (I would prefer the BED if it weren’t so far to fall) and I am learning to go to the “paper” to pee and poo. And of course, I know my name and “don’t bite”(I hear that a lot since I am a puppy after). I love toys and will fetch for you. Oh yeah, I have one partially blue eye like my Mom. Special, huh?
Glock is a Male Cattle Dog Mix that was born on 12/6/2017 and currently weighs 4 lbs.
PUPPIES: Young puppies that have not had their second round of puppy shots will not be at the Adoption Center for our weekend adoption events. If you are interested in adopting a puppy, please fill out an application on our website http://www.k-9angelsrescue.org
SPAY/NEUTER: As we believe proper healthcare of one’s pet is a requirement of good ownership K-9 Angels Rescue only adopts out dogs that have been fully vetted. If the dog being adopted is not already altered at the time of their adoption, the dog will be altered within 2 weeks of adoption at our vet at our cost, with the exception of puppies which will be altered as soon as the puppy is ready.
NOTE: All dogs are officially the property of K-9 Angels Rescue until they are altered by our veterinarian.
