Adopt a Chihuahua (medium coat)

Toby is an apricot/cream short-hair chihuahua mix. It’s believed that she is about 10yrs old.
 
Her foster mom says Toby is an absolute doll, a sweet, older chi. She’s very quiet. Toby gets along wonderfully with the resident dogs (small dogs, all under 10lbs). She's very tolerant of their polite curiosity about her. She corrects a younger fellow foster dog appropriately when he gets too rambunctious and plays too rough, but otherwise mostly ignores his antics. She's cautious with people she doesn't know, but not stranger-phobic, as chihuahuas can be. She's just the tiniest bit startled when touched, which might be due to vision issues, but otherwise very friendly. She enjoys being petted, scratched and brushed, once she gets past that initial, small jolt when first touched. She's social — she follows her foster around from room to room, and outside even when she doesn't need to 'go'. She's not really interested on being on the furniture: a comfy dog bed is all she wants does. She likes to chew on rawhides, but doesn't seem interested in any other toys. 

Toby has been microchipped. She has a heart murmur with some chest congestion and mild coughing, & corneal damage in one eye due to persistent dry eye. The chest congestion and corneal damage are being treated, but the underlying conditions are both permanent and will require ongoing in-home medical treatment. The vet says she still has sight in the damaged eye. There has to be a family out there that will love her & give her the care she needs. Will see the beauty of a gem that she is & what an amazing addition she will make for any household. She’s got so much love to give to her furever family.
