Adopt a Chihuahua (short coat)

This little guy is an agility all-star. He has mastered the A-frame, bar jump, table, platform, and tire jump and he's currently working on the tunnel and teeter totter. He loves to learn and is super-fast. He also has the best smile and is extremely smart. Soda Pop can be nervous and reactive towards strangers, especially men. If he is pushed too hard, or becomes too stressed, he will bite. However, he's been doing well meeting other caregivers here at the Sanctuary, especially if they bring him some tasty treats. He's sensitive with his feet, needs to be muzzled for medical handling and will guard beds and small spaces (mostly from people but sometimes from dogs as well). Once he knows someone and feels safe, Soda Pop is sweet and affectionate, often placing his head in your lap. He bonds very closely with people and loves to be with them, though he does do well by himself and is awesome in the crate. He loves toys, walks and car rides.Soda Pop was born in 2013. He has done well with other dogs at the Sanctuary and enjoys playing with them. He would probably do best in a home with other dogs, as they can make him feel more comfortable. However, he does sometimes get overwhelmed by them and likes to have a safe space to take a break and relax. Soda Pop passed a cat test at Sanctuary " with caution.? He may be able to live with cats but will need to be closely supervised with them, especially at first.Besides agility, Soda Pop is doing obedience training at the Sanctuary. He loves to give his mind a workout as well as his body. So far, he knows " sit,? " touch,? " spin,? " place? and is learning " down,? " stay,? and " beg.? He's also doing training that will help him be less reactive towards strangers. He'll need to find a home with someone who is willing to continue doing training with him to help him be his very best.
