Adopt a Calico / Mixed (short coat)
Nelsie the Cat needs a home
Hi! My name is Nelsie. I am a small short hair Calico kitty and about one year old. I started my life in a trailer park, trying to find a home and a way to survive. I was doing okay until my leg got hurt. It was really bad so the people in the neighborhood took me to the local shelter. The nice people there knew that I would not be okay without surgery so they started asking for help from the community.A local group of amazing and generous people called St Nick's Closet paid to have me taken care of at the Animal Medical clinic. My doctor wanted so badly to save my leg but that would have been nearly impossible. The quickest path to recovery and a home of my own was to remove the leg. Luckily, cats are very talented and have great balance so having only three legs would be easy to adapt to!Once I recovered from my surgery, a sweet family took me in as a foster. It was my first experience with true care and comfort. They let me rest, then helped me get used to being a three legged cat at my own pace. Now, I am almost healed and ready for a home of my own. I love to be petted, need a safe place where I won't be chased, and MUST be inside forever. If your home is right for me, it will have a warm spot for me to curl up in and hopefully you to lean against... a lot!
Adopting two kittens is always recommended because a kitten left alone during the day can become lonely and bored, which sometimes can lead to mischief. Two kittens will never be lonely, especially if they are siblings.
