Adopt a Hound / Mixed
HONEY BEAR the Dog needs a home
Honey Bear is a true survivor who will touch your heart! When you meet him you see that he's friendly and playful, a happy hound mix who loves people. He's about a year and a half old, active and fun, knows basic commands such as sit, and accept treats well. He walks well on his "active leader," as you can see on his video, and is super-smart! He aims to please and would love to learn... unfortunately he has spent much of his young life in shelters, through no fault of his own. When he was about 7 months old, he was scared, tired and underweight when he was taken in by our friends at the Humane Society of Camden County. He had a skin infection, hookworms, anemia, low body temperature, and he cried in pain when anyone touched him. Even in spite of all that, the staff and volunteers at Camden were struck by how sweet and gentle he was -- they said he had "nothing but love to give everyone." His trust in his caretakers never wavered. Now he's fully grown at about 45 pounds, and a happier dog you just won't find! He has a beautiful golden coat and lots of puppy in him, perhaps making up for the time he missed. He's ready for puppy training and would love to share his lust for life with an active, dog-loving owner. He guards things that belong to him, perhaps because of his time fending for himself, and he should be in a home with no cats. Honey Bear doesn't want you to feel sorry for him in any way -- he just wants to love you and have you show him what will make you happy! He's heartworm-free, neutered, microchipped, up to date on his shots and ready to go home with you. Right now his adoption fee is only $20. You can make a world of difference for a dog who truly deserves it -- please watch his video, then come meet loving, lovable Honey Bear!00
The adoption fee helps in covering the medical treatment that has been completed. This includes the cost of the spay or neuter, testing for HW, HW preventative, rabies vaccination, wormings, annual vaccination, and flea and tick treatments. If you are interested in adopting this pet, first visit our home page, www.nassauhumanesociety.com to complete the adoption application, view hours of operation, see other pets available or just to get directions to the shelter. You can email or fax the application to the shelter. If you have other questions you can call the shelter at 904-321-1647 or email us at [email protected]. We cannot hold a pet for adoption; therefore if you plan on traveling to the shelter please call before you leave to assure the pet you are traveling to see will be there. Some of our pets are in a foster care home with a volunteer and if you wish to meet those pets an appointment will need to be made. Thank you for considering one of our shelter pets for adoption.
