And I couldn't help but be a little bit interested in all the kindly folks who spoke gently to me and let me sniff their hands. Hmmm . . . soft stroking on the cheeks doesn't feel so bad . . . ooh, a little scratching around the ears . . . gee, that's nice. I'm beginning to like this!
