Adopt a Schipperke / Kai Dog / Mixed (short coat)

Beau is still a puppy at 1 year old and the perfect size at 20 lbs.   He is developing into the most amazing little boy and such a pleasure to be around.   He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and fully vetted!

Beau was abandoned in an Industrial Park for months in Bloomington CA. where he survived on the kindness of the strangers. However, the company that was feeding him moved and left and this sweet boy was all alone to fend for himself!  .Lucky for him a good samaritan contact Dream Fetchers: Project Rescue where they were able to rescue this abandoned boy.  In turn they contacted GreenDog for assistance in finding a forever loving family for him to call his own.  

Beau takes a little time to warm up to people and can appear a bit skiddish, but once he has gained your trust and he knows he is safe, his adorable personality will shine through.   He has  the kindest heart, loving, playful and yet can be calm too!  He is very aware and has so much potential for someone to take the time to really work with him.   He is just striking with his brindle coloring with an unusual  look similar to the Ken Kai dog.  He would do best in a calm home with a large secure back yard to be able to run around in.  He might have been abused and is very sensitive and might not do well with a lot of children around.   He loves to play with a buddy so another another pup for him to play with would be best or he could be your one  and only as long as he is not left alone a lot as he would get very lonely.   He does not do well at this stage in dog parks as he probably feels insecure.  He would do better with people home with him during the day as loves to hang with you and play.  He does well on walks in his harness (he should always have a harness on him for walks), he also does great with cats!    He does well in a car and is very well behaved  in dog friendly restaurants on their patio!    He has been through a lot in his short life and again is  timid when first meeting people.   He can be a flight risk so you have to understand and extra precaution with him not getting out.  He just needs to understand he is safe and will need a family to understand that safety and love is where he thrives.  This little guy will keep you laughing at the funny way he will talk to you or when he takes his hip and bumps you to play.. Oh how he loves to be scratched from heat to toe.  He will surely fall fast asleep next to you watching TV if you keep that up.   He can sleep with you in your bed on in his bed next to you.  He is pretty much potty trained as well!!
