RESCUING CHARLIE

Charlies young owner passed away and his family did not want his dog. Some good folks from Jackson county reached out to us to take heartworm positive Charlie Blue, formerly known as Snuggles. We had a foster family step up for this sweet boy and we were able to take him into our program.

ABOUT CHARLIE

Charlie is an amazing boy. He is super sweet and loves his people. Charlie has been tested with dogs of all sizes and did extremely well. Charlie also lives in foster care with a cat and he could care less about her! Charlie is a bit of a scaredy-cat. It took him a while to settle into foster care, stop pacing and jumping up at every sound. He is still afraid of loud and unfamiliar sounds, even the doorbell and especially that big bad thunder. Because of this he is not super comfortable venturing too far from the house during walks although he does do well on a leash. Consistent exposure to new sounds, people, and places with a confident pack leader would do wonders for him. Charlie loves car rides. He has an adorable, goofy grin and he smiles every time he stretches out in the middle of the bed. He loves to be right next to his people at all times. If you move, he is right there with you even if it is just across the room. He is crate-trained and house broken. Charlie loves scratches and is working on his snuggle skills. He is a pretty lazy guy and enjoys laying around most of the time. He does get the zoomies once or twice a day and like to play tug of war with his rope toy, but he is generally a pretty chill guy. When he gets wound up he gets very loud and is too rough to play or wrestle with so he could use some time spent learning to play easy and roughhousing and hand games should be avoided. He loves to give kisses and will do anything for peanut butter or spray cheese. Yum! He LOVES flavored Nylabones! Charlie is great with other dogs, but can be a bit nervous at first. He would probably do best in a home with another confident doggie sibling to help him with his own confidence and he adores his doggie foster sister.

Charlie has finished his heartworm treatment and is ready for a forever family of his own.

Our adoption fee is $250. All dogs are current on vaccinations, spayed or neutered, micro-chipped, on heartworm prevention, and are fed top of the line grain-free food.
