Momma Cass the Dog needs a home
Mamma Cass is a real hero from the Navajo Nation. I have never seen a tidy litter of puppies come out after 12 hours in a kennel. Cass work through the long drive and somehow kept all four of her's sparkling. They rolled out looking like they had just been bathed. As her darlings were adopted out she became accustomed to other dogs and people. Though technically feral, she remarkably has never shown the slightest bit of aggression towards people, even as they reached over her for her pups. The other dogs had to steer clear for a while until the pups were bigger. She is slowly but surely progressing into an absolute sweetheart! Watching her shed fearfulness and stress and discover real doggy pleasures in being cared for and caressed is an absolute joy.. She has begun romping with the other dogs and wagging her tail when her two legged foster family come home. She is incredible on a leash - better than any dog I have ever walked. She spends most of her time doing a silent impression of a dog statue but she now actually whines when she thinks she is completely alone. We took her hiking for the first time the other day and she was so thrilled to trail run with everyone that her tail never stopped wagging. The second time we let her off the leash and she stayed right with the group and even jumped into the car on her own! She'll definitely have a shy adjustment wiith a new owner, but she is a peaceful companion who takes care of her own bathroom needs with a doggy door. The vet says she is about 4 years old and no she needs to lose a bit of weight ( the combination of endless puppy food after a life of hunger had an effect!) She is spayed, chipped, vaccinated and healthy! Apply to meet her at rescuerovers.org
