Phoenix is sweet and funny and stubborn and she makes us laugh every day. Everyone she meets falls for her gentle, shy personality. She lives for food, toys, chew bones, playtime and being around her humans. She loves pets and just hanging out, she is mostly a cuddler and she prefers to be next to you. Loves her crate, (it’s her safe spot) but doesn’t need to be crated if she is taken out to potty on a schedule.
Phoenix needs and loves having another dog in the home to make her feel comfortable and can be afraid of new situations, people and sudden movements, she will run off to her safe place until she knows it’s ok. She is working hard on being brave, and walking on a leash (she does quite well when she has a dog friend along).
She thrives on a schedule so she knows what to expect and when, she does want to be such a good girl! If she feels you are not on schedule she will talk to you and let you know! Are you late giving her supper? Did you not go out at lunch for a game of chase or fetch? She will tell you! A woo woo a woo woo!!! We call it revving her engine.
With a calm, patient and loving home, she will bloom. Phoenix underwent heartworm treatment recently and is feeling much better! Please ask SHH if you have any questions about that.
