BLAZE the Horse needs a home
Blaze is an adorable young gelding. He was born here at Longmeadow after his dam Gypsy, a TN Walker, was rescued by our Animal Cruelty Task Force. Luckily, Gypsy was at the ranch long enough to regain her weight and health before giving birth to Blaze. Blaze has now been gelded and is ready for his new home!
Blaze has been handled, haltered and led since the first days of his life. He is an easy young horse to work with and learns very quickly. He picks up his feet for the farrier and leads politely. He will require an adopter who is experienced in raising and training young horses.
Blaze has grown up at Longmeadow and he is a smart horse. He appears to be gaited but hasn''t figured out how to stay in his gaits in the pasture.
Update November 2017: Blaze finally has his turn in the training program. Blaze is progressing quickly. He is a sweet and laid back horse. He really wants to work with his people and seems to enjoy the training sessions. He is a smooth and happy boy.
Update 2018: Blaze has a solid foundation. He is still trying to figure out if he is gaited but he would be considered `green broke` at this time. He is ready for an intermediate rider in a lesson program with a trainer or a higher level rider. With more training we think he will be appropriate for a beginner rider.
