Adopt a Domestic Short Hair (short coat)
Gracie the Cat needs a home
Meet Gracie:
Gracie came to NTCR with her daughter, Molly (who has since been adopted). They were owner surrenders based on a condo bi-law. When Gracie first came to NTCR she was VERY scared and did not want to eat. She was struggling to adapt to life in the shelter, instead of the home she no longer had.
Through patience, love and persistence of NTCR volunteers, she has overcome her fears, adapted and is learning to trust more and more each day.
Gracie needs a slow approach to accept and truly enjoy being petted, but is a huge fan of treats which helps her forget her comfort zone for the reward of treats.
Gracie loves playing with the little cat sponge balls. She acts like a kitten when see finds them jumping, batting and carrying them around.
Gracie can be timid with new people, sometimes a little insecure and will need a special owner, who is patient, understanding and can see past her initial shyness, into her heart of gold. Gracie is excellent with other cats and would do best in a home with a relaxed lifestyle and someone who is willing to her give her extra reassurance to help her continue her journey to becoming a completely confident cat.
If you want to be the one to guide her along the journey, treat her with the kindness, gentleness and love that she has always deserved, please fill out an adoption application and contact us.
