In the spirit of full disclosure, you need to know that Holly is a very special old gal (we estimate between 11- 13 years old) and one of our PAWS Fund cases. She was brought to the shelter in extremely bad condition and has already had emergency surgery for a prolapsed uterus and umbilical hernia and x-rays show she has a collapsed trachea and chronic disk disease. She is on medications for both those maladies. Considering her age and all the medical problems she had when we got her, I musts say she is doing remarkably well. Just this morning she starting to show her adorable and very sweet personality. In addition to what we?ve already treated, she needs a dental exam and cleaning and a few mammary tumors removed and biopsied. She is partially blind in one eye due to her hair rubbing on it constantly and scaring the cornea, but she gets around very well. The P.W.H.S. has a PAWS Fund appeal out to get the donations to pay the $1200 needed to cover all her medical bills and we expect to have enough to do the tumor removal this coming week, but once we have enough to cover the dental too, we?ll schedule her for both at the same time. All that being said, she is a wonderful little girl and very friendly with other dogs, kids and people. I had her in my home for the last 8 days and she is such a sweet cuddle bug and no problem at all. She is available for adoption, but we must make sure all these procedures will be done to assure she gets the best 2nd chance at life possible. She certainly deserves it. Should an adopter choose to adopter her prior to all medical treatments being done, we would require a medical waiver be signed acknowledging they?ve been informed and proof that the remaining procedures have been completed at your own cost.
