Coco the Dog needs a home
Calling all teddy bear lovers! Our Coco is a gentle, sweet but strong, American Pitbull mix. He is 3 years old and came to the Somerset Regional Animal Shelter on December 30 from another shelter who had run out of room. He is a large baby, which just means there is more of him to love. His coat is white and brown and his soulful eyes will melt your heart. He seems to always be happy and rarely barks…an energetic boy with a wonderful disposition. He can also chill with the best of them!
Coco lives for his walks. He is a bit strong, and better with a harness than a leash. He is doing his best to learn leash manners and making progress every day. Imagine if you were cooped up in a kennel all day…you would live for your outside time too! He loves to explore, and just gets so excited to see everything in the great outdoors. We feel that Coco will do best with a family who has large dog experience, and older children who respect animals. He gets along with other dogs, but a meet and greet will be necessary if there are other furry animals in your home. No cats for CoCo!
Coco bonds quickly to anyone who shows him love and respect. He is a pleaser, and he will make you smile from ear to ear. He is gentle when taking treats, and loves to lean into you and feel your warmth. He is not particularly a toy guy, but that could change outside of the shelter environment. Coco loves the volunteers, but he is ready for his forever home.
Our Coco is neutered, micro-chipped, and up to date on his shots. This special boy is a true rescue in every sense of the word. Come down and meet our darling love bug.
