Adopt a Beagle

Beagle Dog

Mipha the Dog needs a home

Are you looking for a snuggly new best friend? Well look no further, because here I am! I'm Mipha, and I absolutely love to cuddle and get belly rubs. I can be pretty nervous and shy when meeting new people, but once I get used to you we'll be best buds! I love spending time with my human friends, and curling up with them on the sofa or bed. I’m a big couch potato!

Like a typical beagle, I love to use my nose! I really like to take long, leisurely walks outside where I can stop and sniff everything. It's about the journey, not the destination, right? But the only thing better than great smells is great food! My Kong is my favorite toy! I LOVE treats--I'm really eager to please when my foster mom and I do training. I've already learned to sit and lie down, and we're working on stay, but it's hard to pay attention when there are distractions around. I think obedience classes will be a great way to bond with you, don't you think?

Now, you’ve probably heard that beagles are very vocal, but I guess I’m the black sheep in my family because I’m very quiet. I don’t see any reason to bark when I’m left home alone, or if I hear strange noises outside. Sometimes I’ll bark at something new and confusing in the house (like the first time my mom turned on the TV or the washing machine) or if I want to be let on the bed, but that’s about it.

My foster mom says I need a family who’s willing to be patient with me and help me build confidence in new situations. I can be very nervous around unfamiliar people and dogs; they’re okay at a distance, but I get scared when they move quickly or invade my personal space. I might not do well around very small children who haven't learned to respect my space. I just need a little time to get used to strangers at my own pace before we can start hanging out!

So what do you say? Do I look like the snugglebug you’ve been waiting for? Put in an application at hopeanimals.org and come meet me!
