Tyson - Hospice the Dog needs a home
PLEASE NOTE: GPMR communicates primarily by email. GPMR does not have a shelter. All of our dogs are kept in loving foster homes. We must have a completed adoption
application on file before meeting any of our mastiffs.
GPMR adopts to the states of Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas, Arkansas, Missouri, Louisiana and parts of Colorado.
!!!Any mastiffs being adopted out of the state of Oklahoma require a health certificate to be paid for by the adopter!!!
Meet Tyson! He was rescued by a good samaritan when their neighbor was not caring for him proerly. They nursed Tyson back to health but wanted him to go to a family where he could be provided with the veterinary care that he needed.
Tyson's vet visit was full of information. We learned that he is at least 10 years old. He came in with terrible skin and ear infections which we are currently treating. He had fleas and intestinal parasites, both which have been treated. He unfortunately tested positive for heartworm but the vet doesn't recommend treatment due to his age. The vet also suspects Tyson has testicular cancer as he was never neutered which would have prevented this condition.
Due to Tyson's advanced age and medical issues, he is considered a "Hospice Foster" meaning his foster home will provide a loving home and keep him happy for as much time as he left. So far he seems unaware he has these health problems and is in good spirits. Please consider making a donation for his care as he will have several follow up vet visits!
Tyson has an amazing personality and temperament wise is a great represenation of the Mastiff breed. He loves meeting new people, being close to his foster parents and of course begging for food at the table. He's getting a lot of TLC in foster care.
It's costly for the rescue to keep up with the monthly expenses for our hospice dogs, please consider a donation for their care!
