Jake is a super sweet and calm dude. He’s got longer legs but surprisingly isn’t a jumper. He does well with other small to medium dogs and cats. He loves playing! We aren’t quite sure how he is around larger dogs, he may be unsure at first but would do just fine.
His favorite things are chilling on the couch, getting petted and chewing a bone. He is potty trained and will use potty pads if it’s too cold out… It didn’t get below zero in Texas!
He’s not afraid to ask for pets when he wants them either, he will gently put his front paws on your arm, leg, or sometimes your face! He is easily redirected when doing something you don’t like and he is always so gentle. He sleeps in a kennel at night, although he would definitely prefer sleeping at the end of his owner’s bed.
He can be a little scared at times, but he just needs reassurance that he is safe. He came to rescue with a few marks that look like he was in fight. Life probably wasn’t so great for him, so it’s understandable that he’s a little unsure sometimes.
Jake is a young dude that just wants love. He is so sweet and gentle and would do well in almost any home.

Ruff Start Rescue is a foster based rescue. Animals are located in homes throughout Minnesota. We do not have a facility where animals are kept.
