Adopt a Border Collie / Australian Shepherd / Mixed

Border Collie / Australian Shepherd / Mixed Dog

Marlene the Dog needs a home

This beauty is Marlene. Marlene is around 2 years old and is looking for a family who will include her as part of the family to share love and laughter. This girl is a Border Collie and because of that she is also super smart. Marlene will need a family who understands this amazing breed who has been used for years to herd goats and sheep and do so by instinct. You will need to be ready to keep her busy by teaching her new commands, hiding things that she can find, going on walks and taking her on outings with you. She is always ready to go when you grab her leash and she gets super excited. Marlene is food motivated so another positive for her training. She is still young and so learning to think thru her choices to make the right one. She is a funny girl who will make you laugh. She came to us with happy tail so we had to remove part of her tail, it actually makes her even more adorable. Her short tail never stops wagging and her butt goes as fast as her tail. She is an active girl who would love a family who will take her on hikes and let her snoop for creatures. She has beautiful Medium length black shiny fur with a white chest true to Border Collies. For several weeks Marlene has been in her foster home with 5 other 4 legged friends. She can be a bit controlling and likes to steal bones so it would be best if she was with 4 legged friends who are submissive. She loves to wrestle with one of the dogs and they run around the yard having a great time. She is great with people she meets and her tail never stops wagging. Marlene is both house and crate trained and sleeps by her foster mom's bed quietly all night. This girl is the perfect girl for a family who understands this breed and who is open to spending more time developing her skills and working with her on training. BE ready to fall in love with her when you meet Marlene...she is quite a fun girl.
