Hope Grey/White Pit the Dog needs a home
Meet Hope! This girl has had a rough life but is ready for a forever home all her own! She was found abandoned, emaciated and desperately in need of care earlier this year along with two other pit bulls. Luckily, the other dogs were microchipped and were able to find their way home to their owners. Cody’s Friends Rescue stepped into give Hope the recovery time and medical care she needed. After several months of recuperation from some nasty wounds and a skin infection and lots of good food, Hope is happy and healthy and looking for the special family she can call all her own!
Hope, who we believe was used as a breeding dog, is approximately, 4-5 years old, crate trained and is impeccable with her house manners, never once having an accident in her foster house. She is a giant cuddle-bug! She is happiest snuggling with her special people, romping in the backyard or playing fetch with a tennis ball. Hope is great with kids and happy to snuggle with them too. She is gentle with her human interactions despite her size and only barks infrequently. We can’t say enough good things about Hope (and we love the fact that one ear stands straight while the other flops!)
Because of her prior situation without food, she can be protective of her food as to other dogs and separate feeding is recommended including for a period of time after meal time is over. She has not shown any possessiveness in connection with food and humans, only other dogs. She does best with dogs her own size or bigger and no cats please.
