Meet Buddy, a handsome shepherd lad who will steal your heart from the get-go! He is living in foster care with 2 adults and no other animals. Buddy will happily greet you at the door with a swish of his wagging tail and is practicing hard to keep ‘all 4 on the floor’. He is an affectionate pooch who loves to spend time around his humans, yet can amuse himself with a stick or a toy, especially when romping out in the yard. Buddy sleeps well through the night on a dog bed in the master bedroom, and spends time in his XL crate when his foster mom has to go out for short periods. He is still learning what he should not get into, so the crate is a nice comfy safe space for him to relax.
Buddy is an athletic and curious fellow, so walking him requires a bit of guidance to keep him focused on the task, especially when he spots other critters. An adopter must embrace force-free and positive methods only, so that Buddy can continue to polish his skills while enjoying everything around him. He is a happy and loving dog, who will bond quickly with anyone who offers ear scratches, pets, and attention.
Buddy is a healthy dog in every way however he has tested positive for heart worm so will require treatments for this at the vet (paid for by ARF). Because he is so ready to find his forever family, we are hoping to place him in his loving adoptive home now, and finalize the adoption when his vet treatments are complete. He has already been neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped.
