Meet Gracie, a medium-sized, cattle dog mix from the Red Lake Reservation. Gracie spent the first few years of her life taking care of herself and didn't have a lot of socialization with people. As a result, she is a shy girl and takes longer than normal to warm up to people, new situations and life in general. She has come a long way in her foster home but will require extra patience and training in her new home to continue her progress.

Gracie needs a good example of what it means to be a dog so her forever home needs to have another dog ready to show Gracie the ropes. She loves to run and play at the dog park, is making progress with leash walking and has made great strides with meeting other people. She needs regular socialization at dog parks, dog friendly stores and other public places and will benefit from obedience classes to gain confidence. Gracie is crate-trained and while she is house-trained, she has had occasional accidents if I miss her subtle signal.

Gracie is a sweet girl and definitely worth the time and patience it takes to develop a trusting bond. It really is wonderful to watch her blossom into the wonderful dog companion she is!

Gracie's adoption fee is $225, which includes vet exam, age-appropriate vaccinations and tests, microchip, and spay/neuter. Please note that we only accept cash or checks - no credit cards.
